Real emunah is “ Where will I find Hashem today deeper than yesterday, deeper and better?”

Fallen emunah is that our need to believe takes us to false or foolish beliefs. One example is that you can live your life without Hashem. It means ignoring His presence in the world.  If you read even good pure books, Hashem is not a character.  There are people who live their lives without Hashem being a character. They are not in a search or with awareness, they live in darkness.

Another form of fallen emunah is filling it with something else. It could be superstitious beliefs – running to just get bracha without having a level of awareness that the bracha comes from Hashem.  Another form is when you believe in people and their abilities to the point where it eclipses your belief in Hashem. You have to be on guard against this.

Even tefilla can become a fallen emunah. We are supposed to beseech Hashem and reliance on Him.  But if we think we can say the magic words and everything has to be the way we want it to be, like magic.  If you see yourself as the center, I did this, I did that, and not Hashem, then you are in fallen emunah.

Believe only in Hashem.

Hashem wants us to know Him. That is the purpose of Creation.  Learn to take this knowledge and bring light to a dark place. Getting to know Hashem, which will get you to know your tikkun and taking your life purposefully, that is the ikar.
